Brian Lubbert's Ascent of Buck Mountain (Kinnelon) (1060 feet)

Trip Report: Grabbed hiking pass... Parked at end of winnebago. Followed winnebago to where I would have built a woods road (in the col by the elbow of the reservoir) and found an old woods road behind two Jersey barriers. Took the S shaped road in and around the peaks until I was near summit. An easy walk!

When I returned to the car I discovered, after having a conversation with the home owner across the road from Winnebago Road, that the hiking permit does not cover this land. If you read the hiking permit, this is in fact true, the area is off-limits. He did say as I was not a teenager or running into trees that I had little to fear. Turns out the road was old route 23 and the house was a hotel until the 1930s. The home owner has been there for 30 years.
