Description: Mount Tammany is perhaps New Jersey's most iconic mountain. Mount Tammany makes up the North portion of the Delaware Water Gap, which serves as a gateway to and from New Jersey via Interstate 80.

Althought it is only New Jersey's fifth highest mountain, Mount Tammany requires the largest vertical gain of any mountain in our state. From the Dunnfield Creek trailhead to the Tammany summit is a 1200' climb.

There are many views of the Water Gap from the trails on Tammany. The photograph above was taken near the summit of Tammany, with a view of the Gap and Mount Minsi.
