Description: Bearfort Lookout is the southernmost and lowest of the three qualifying Bearfort Ridge summits.

Bearfort Lookout is named for the amazing 360 degree views to be had from the summit firetower, but Bearfort Lookout offers easterly and westerly views from many of its trails. The forests on Bearfort Lookout consist of hemlock groves carpeted with lush ferns.

Bearfort Lookout is covered by a very dense trail network, offering multiple routes to the summit. Try hiking around the Clinton Reservoir for a 10 mile + circular.

It was flowing so much, that we couldn't cross it on the way back. We had to cross the logs in the background which were covered in ice. -by- jon Here is a semi-frozen pond, somewhere along the Highlands trail on Bearfort ridge. -by- jon
