Summit Routes
- Route Name: Skylands Manor In-and-Out -by- Eric Koppel
Start: Skylands Manor
End: Skylands Manor
Description: This is perhaps the easiest way to climb Mount Defiance. Park at parking lot A at the Skylands Manor/NJ Botanical Garden and follow the white-blazed Crossover Trail in an eastward direction to the back of the gardens. At some point, the Crossover Trail will intersect with the green-blazed Halifax Trail; take the Halifax Trail. Near the top of Mount Defiance, take the red-blazed Ringwood-Ramapo Trail North to the summit.
